In Chile's capital, Santiago, beekeepers protested in front of the Presidential Palace to draw attention to the drought in recent years and call for the government to support more bee production. Beekeepers lined up their hives on the road in front of the palace and blocked the road to traffic. Beekeepers, who placed 60 hives containing approximately 10 thousand bees on the road in front of the Presidential Palace, caused panic among the passers-by, and police teams intervened. The police demanded that the hives be collected, stating that their action against the protesters was not the right method as it endangered public health. However, when some of the protesters disobeyed the will of the police, 4 people were detained. During the protest, 7 police officers who wanted to remove the hives were stung by bees. According to the statement made by the police, some of the policemen who sting bee were taken to the hospital. Other policemen removed the hives from the scene and reopened the road to traffic.

Beekeepers want the government to increase honey prices or increase support, expressing that the death of bees means a disaster not only for them but also for the whole world.
